Tax Levy

2024 taxes were levied on July 22nd, and notices have been mailed. Payment is due by December 31, 2024. As of January 1st, any unpaid taxes will be subject to interest charges applied on the first day of each month Payment can be made by cash, cheque, debit, or eTransfer.

Municipal Mill Rate for 2024 is set at 6.1 Mills with Mill rate factors of 1.0000 for Agriculture and Residential and 1.25 for Commercial and Industrial.

Gopher Control Program

Ratepayers are eligible for up to 50% cost-shared funding towards the purchase of registered gopher control products, and up to $125 per raptor platform.
Applications and receipts must be submitted to the RM Office by July 15th. Any product purchased after July 31st will be an eligible expense for next years program.
The Government of Saskatchewan has information on the Control of Richardson's Ground Squirrels. Here they say results indicated that the zinc phosphide products, ZP Rodent Oat Bait and Burrow oat bait were as effective as strychnine and less expensive. They also present a reduced risk of secondary poisoning and are not environmentally persistent.

Assessment
Assessment of all property is undertaken by the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency (SAMA). They are contracted to determine the fair value of all property within the Municipality.

Municipal work takes priority, and custom work will be completed as we have time.
Invasive Plant Control Program

The RM of Mayfield has a Weed Management Plan, and the RM and rate payers can participate in the ICPC program through SARM. This means the RM and our rate payers are eligible for rebates on approved chemicals for eligible noxious and prohibited weeds. For more information click here.
Hay Salvage & Ditch Mowing

Before and including July 8, landowners or lessees nearest/adjacent to the ditch have the first option to cut or bale material, but after that day anyone can cut and bale without permission from the adjacent landowner or lessee, as long as no salvage operations have already begun. Pest Control

The RM of Mayfield offers rat bait to property owners at no charge. Please help us to keep rats and mice at a minimum within our municipality. If you require the pest control officer to visit your farm site please call Don Heide at (306) 883-7996, or if you need rat bait please stop by the municipal office.

Garbage Tags

Garbage tags may be purchased at the RM office or the Village of Maymont office for $20 per sheet of 10 tags.

The Maymont Waste Transfer Site is open Tuesdays and Saturdays 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Saskatchewan Municipal Hail Insurance is available through the RM office. Please contact us for more information, or visit the SMHI website.
Tax Certificates

Tax Certificates are available for $10. Please contact the RM office with your request.
Speed Limit

Gravel roads without posted limits are 80 km/h zones.

Be courteous.... slow down when travelling past yards to help reduce dust.

RM maps are available at the RM office for $15. Or if you are looking for a digital copy, it is offered on the iHunter app.
Development & Building Permits

Development Permits are required for residential dwellings, commercial or industrial buildings, gas and oil well and related drilling, gravel pits, etc. Please contact the RM Office for an application form.

For Building Permits, we have contracted Construction Code Authority (CCA) in North Battleford. They complete building plan reviews and site inspections on behalf of the municipality. They can be contacted at (306) 386-7777.
